When this sewing thing started to get serious I needed a space to create, store and in general shut the door and not worry about the mess. I used to operate our of our loft, Husband floored the loft, installed ladders, built (many, many) shelving units put a TV (& Sky) in. Fab! A couple of things it didn't have was a window or sky light, or decent heating. In the winter it was too cold and in the summer, well it was more like a sauna.
I then started working out of our dining room, but as this open plan with the living room there is no shutting the door with all the mess (I can get quite messy, but I know where everything is!). There is also the issue of not being able to eat at the table without a removal van being hired to move all the stuff!!!
My Son will be going to University after the summer break, and spends most of his time over at his Dad's as this is easier for him to travel to college and his friends are all nearby. So...there is a room going spare. My eldest daughter has tried to comandere it, and sleeps in there when her brother is not here. But, after a bit of bargaining (the promise of new loft style beds and a room makeover) she has agreed to move back in to her old room with her sister.
As business is really picking up I really do need the space. I have been pinning like mad on Pinterest (https://www.pinterest.com/luciennem1401/lemon-thistle-hq/) for my ideal space. Budget is a bit issue so for the time being will work with what I have. Wall paper and paint purchased, so now just the hard part....clearing the room out. Those of a nervous disposition should stop reading now, and for those that want to venture on, well I can only apologise.

The room looks a little bit worse than normal, due to the fact that Mr LT spent a while hauling things(???) from under the bed.
The bed will be staying but will be turned around so it sits under the window and used when my Son or family come over to stay. The wardrobe will also stay, but will be painted and used as very useful storage. It's not going to happen overnight unfortunately, but a lot of work is going to be put in this weekend.
I will post updates soon.
Take care,
